Telstar race this Saturday - January 2

Surprisingly, the Telstar race in Bethel  (at the Telstar High School) is on for Saturday.  They received sufficient snow such that, along with some well placed shoveling, they can hold a race this week.  This race is a 3K skate race with the first race starting at 11:00.  Some of our skiers will participate in the relay portion of the event, while others will ski in the individual section.  We will have a van (or
two) leaving Desert Rd at 8:00.  Anyone needing a ride on the van MUST send Susan an email (highschool@mainecoastwaldorf.org) by Friday afternoon at 5:00.  If you don't reserve a spot on the van, you won't have a seat.  Also, if something changes from your end such that you won't be attending this race at all, be sure to let Susan know.

Know that between the travel, multiple race times, and the awards and tights give-away at the end, this will be an all-day affair.  The van probably won't return until 5:00ish.

Also, check the blog again Friday afternoon, in case we decide to adjust the departure time on Saturday morning.

Our new race suits are arriving today (Thursday) and will be handed out when the campers return tonight.

As a reminder, here is what everyone should bring on Saturday (and to all races!):

• All of your race gear - race suit, hat, buff, race skate skis, boot and poles, and warm up skate skis

• Underlayers

• Warm jackets/pants for before/after skiing

• Food for yourself for the entire day - snacks, lunch, late lunch

• Water bottle
